On this page you will find advice about getting the most out of your moving and storage boxes, as well as providing packing and moving tips.

Packing Tip 1

Start by packing non-essential items early. Once you have exchanged contracts pack a couple of boxes a day, it doesn’t sound a lot but it will make a difference.

Packing Tip 2

Make sure neighbours at both properties leave enough room outside for your removal van. You don’t want to block the road!

Packing Tip 3

Keep all boxes, particularly large boxes, at a comfortable carrying weight. Our moving boxes are always best when filled, so put larger heavier items at the bottom of the box and fill up with lighter items or bubble wrap. The fuller the box the greater the stacking strength.

Packing Tip 4

Use boxes such as our book/heavy items for smaller, heavier possessions and pack your essentials, such as important documents and irreplaceable items, and take them with you in the car.

Packing Tip 5

Wrap breakable items individually with packing/tissue paper or bubblewrap. Use layers of newspaper to line the boxes or pillows and beping to provide extra cushioning. It’s cheaper and better for the environment.

Packing Tip 6

Seal all bottles and jars to avoid spillage. Use our wine/bottle box to keep them upright and protected.

Packing Tip 7

Keep breakables away from the top, bottom and sides of your moving boxes. Pack these items loosely with plenty of cushioning.

Packing Tip 8

Clearly identify boxes containing breakables with our ‘Fragile’ tape, one of many of our packing supplies. The highly visible design ensures these boxes will not get overlooked.

Packing Tip 9

Use the room locators and contents gird printed on our moving and storage boxes to quickly identify what goes where. This will save you time during and after the move.

Packing Tip 10

Make good use of our wardrobe boxes, you won’t feel like ironing after unpacking!

Packing Tip 11

Ask your removal company if they are willing to dismantle your furniture. If they aren’t, leave plenty of time so this is done safely and efficiently.

Remember...if you don’t have enough moving boxes don’t worry, you can place an order up to 5pm and we will still deliver the next day.
